Fortune Star Pavilion

Fortune Star Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhuhai City.

Fortune Star Pavilion is located in Dahaochong Village, Doumen Town, Doumen District, Zhuhai City. It is a blockhouse-style building constructed in the 11th year of the Republic of China (1922). The five-story blockhouse faces south and sits to the north, occupying an area of about 150 square meters, with a total height of 14.6 meters. A granite stone plaque on the southern side of the top floor is inscribed with the name “Fortune Star Pavilion” in intaglio; the blockhouse has a square shape with rammed earth walls. There are a total of 25 gun ports distributed across the four walls from the first to the fifth floor. As a defensive facility built by villagers during the Republican era to resist external threats and protect their homes, the Dahaochong Fortune Star Pavilion is one of the better-preserved blockhouses discovered so far in Doumen District. It has been cherished and protected by local residents over the years and, despite more than 90 years of wind and rain, remains largely intact. In 2011, it was officially designated and announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Zhuhai City.

It lies to the east against the majestic Huangyang Mountain Range, neighbors Qianwu Town to the south, faces Shapui Town of Xinhui across the Hutiaomen Waterway to the west, and borders Lianzhou Town to the north.
