Maojingba National Forest Park is located in Longhua County, in the northeastern part of Chengde City, Hebei Province, bordering Chifeng City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Situated along the golden tourism route north of Beijing, the park covers a total area of 19,400 hectares with a forest coverage rate of 87%. The area boasts abundant natural landscape resources and enjoys unique advantages for developing eco-tourism. It mainly consists of five scenic areas: Aobao Mountain, Maojingba Ridge, Moqin Ridge, Pingdingshan Stone Sea, and the Hot Spring Resort. It serves as an ideal destination for tourism, leisure, vacation, and scientific research.
Maojingba National Forest Park is located in the northeastern part of Longhua County, Hebei Province, at the border between Hebei Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It belongs to the Qilaotu Range of the Yin Mountains and primarily protects the forest ecosystem. The park mainly consists of five scenic areas: Aobao Mountain, Maojingba Ridge, Moqin Ridge, Pingdingshan Stone Sea, and the Hot Spring Resort, among which the main peak, Aobao Mountain, has an elevation of 1,852 meters.
The forest park is situated along the golden tourism route north of Beijing. It is 240 kilometers from Beijing, 110 kilometers from Chifeng City, 80 kilometers from the world-renowned Chengde Mountain Resort, 60 kilometers from the Qing Dynasty Prince’s Mansion Museum in Harqin Banner, Chifeng City, 60 kilometers from Longhua County, and enjoys a highly advantageous geographical location.

The geographical coordinates of Maojingba National Forest Park are: longitude 118°06′05″ to 118°17′19″ and latitude 41°28′46″ to 41°40′40″. The park borders the Heilihe National Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia to the east, adjoins the Wangyedian National Forest Park of Harqin Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the northeast, connects with the Xinfeng Forest Farm of Mengluan Forestry Bureau to the north, and blends with the Maojingba Township, Huangdi Township, and Qijia Town of Longhua County to the southwest. Maojingba National Forest Park was established in 1998, with a scenic area of 3,745 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 87%. During the Jin Dynasty, it was called Xiaoling, where the famous “Xianquan Battle” took place. In the Qing Dynasty, it was an important part of the Mulan Hunting Grounds, where emperors such as Kangxi and Qianlong hunted and held autumn maneuvers. In 2002, it was approved as a AA-level national tourist attraction, in 2004 it was named one of the first municipal-level scenic spots, and in December 2004, it was promoted to a national forest park. It includes four major scenic areas: Aobao Mountain, Black Bear Valley, Maojingba Ridge, and the Hot Spring. The park is rich in flora and fauna, with 1,091 species of higher plants from 497 genera and 141 families, and 270 species of terrestrial vertebrate wildlife from 164 genera and 71 families, making it one of the most typical plant distribution areas in North China. The air in the park is fresh, with an air pollution index of 50 and a monthly average PM2.5 level of 0.034, achieving a first-class air quality level. The concentration of negative oxygen ions reaches nearly 10,000 per cubic centimeter, making it an ideal destination for leisure and summer retreat.
