Yunwu Mountain Forest Park in Fengning Manchu Autonomous County is located within the Yunwu Mountain Forest Farm, 20 kilometers southeast of the county seat of Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Hebei Province. It is 140 kilometers from Chengde City and can be reached via National Highway 111 from Beijing or via National Highway 112 and Chengfeng Highway from Chengde. It is a mountainous natural landscape. The highest peak has an elevation of 2,047 meters, making it the second highest peak in the Yanshan Mountain Range. Named Yunwu (Cloud and Mist) Mountain due to its high altitude and frequent cloudy, misty weather, the mountain is accessible by a mountain road that leads directly to the summit. Adjacent to Tanghe Source Resort and Baiyun Ancient Cave, and in proximity to Qiansongba Forest Park and Beijing’s First Grassland, Yunwu Mountain Forest Park is one of the key scenic spots on the Fengning tourism route.

Yunwu Mountain boasts lush vegetation. Streams in the valleys form pools, and flowers perfume the air. The foothills are covered with shrubs such as brambles, hazels, and apricots, while the mid-slopes are filled with tall trees like poplar, birch, linden, and oak, accompanied by wild medicinal herbs such as Codonopsis, Platycodon, Polygonatum, and Atractylodes, as well as wild fruits like mountain grapes, pears, and kiwis. The area is home to a variety of wildlife including foxes, rabbits, badgers, and pheasants. The mountaintop features a high-altitude meadow of about 80 acres, with a clear spring at its center. The surrounding grasslands are vibrant, growing plants such as Sanguisorba, daylilies, trollflowers, and wild leeks. From here, one can gaze out not only over seas of mountains and forests but also catch distant glimpses of the Great Wall and the Miyun Reservoir. On rainy days, with sunshine overhead and clear blue skies, the ground below may be shrouded in swirling clouds and pouring rain, creating an ever-changing, fairy-tale-like scene.

The valleys contain a 2,000-acre century-old walnut orchard, offering visitors opportunities for sightseeing, summer retreats, and fruit picking. In addition, hundreds of tree species thrive here, including white birch, maple, mountain poplar, oak, linden, Koelreuteria, mountain pear, mountain apricot, mountain jujube, kiwi, and mountain grapes. There are also hundreds of natural and cultural attractions such as towering cliffs, ancient glaciers, yellow flower meadows, heavenly dripping springs, moon-viewing spots on the eastern hills, Three-Tone Pools, Three-Star Temples, Observation Pavilions, Layered Jade Peaks, Galloping Horse Peaks, Camel Peaks, and Mysterious Ice Valleys—truly a blessed land. Over 60 species of wildlife, including rabbits, foxes, roe deer, leopards, wild boars, pheasants, pine ducks, mountain fowl, and Siberian goral, inhabit the park, making it an excellent habitat and breeding ground for wild animals.

Yunwu Mountain Scenic Area offers 32 guest rooms with a total of 120 beds. The comprehensive function hall can accommodate 200 people for dining, and there is one large and one small meeting room. Recreational facilities include game rooms, swings, hammocks, and a bonfire site suitable for large-scale cultural events. There are over 20 kilometers of hiking trails, and sanitary facilities are available to match the reception capacity.
