The Xifengkou Underwater Great Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Xifengkou Underwater Great Wall was submerged due to the water impoundment in the reservoir area. A section of the Great Wall winds its way into the water from one end, then emerges on the opposite bank and leaps up onto the hillside, creating the famous "Underwater Great Wall" landscape. Nestled between two mountains is a fortress city, parts of which have become exposed due to shallow water, revealing three gate structures. The Great Wall goes from the mountain into the water, and then from the water back onto the mountain, continuously emerging and disappearing, adding extra charm to this reservoir that resembles the scenery of the Li River. The view is especially enchanting when shrouded in mist. Traveling upstream from Lanqidi leads you to the highlights of the reservoir scenic area, including Panlong Cave and Little Guilin, both of which boast stunning landscapes.
