Tangjiawan Reservoir

Tangjiawan is situated in Cangzi Township, Chengde County, 35 kilometers from downtown Chengde and just 10 kilometers away from Chaoyang Cave and Tianqiao Mountain. The area highlights a 40,000-square-meter artificial lake and many natural caves. Among them is the Dingdang Cave, a natural cave stretching over 100 meters, adorned with diverse stalactites. The scenic area also boasts over 30 unique peaks and rock formations, including Tiandong Mountain, Camel Peak, Dragon-Tiger Stone, Squirrel Mountain, Stone Buddha Mountain, Jade Rabbit Peak, General's Platform, and Immortals’ Meeting Bridge.

General’s Crown Peak, the main peak of Tangjiawan, stands 1,100 meters tall in a pagoda-like shape, formed by layers of massive rocks stacked together. The steep cliffs are nearly unclimbable. By following the narrow, winding, and barely visible trails on both sides, visitors can spiral their way up to the summit. Approaching Tangjiawan, one is greeted by its graceful peaks, emerald-green waters, and pristine natural landscapes — truly “a hundred miles of scenery like a thousand paintings, with visitors immersed within the artwork.”

Cangzi Township: Located in the central part of Chengde County, Cangzi Township is 25 kilometers from Chengde City and 27.4 kilometers south of the county seat. It covers a total area of 111.02 square kilometers, governs 15 administrative villages, 114 villager groups, has 2,981 households and a population of 10,679, and includes a total of 16,500 mu of arable land. The terrain is higher in the north and lower in the south, with elevations ranging from 250 to 460 meters. It is a hilly region with a warm temperate semi-arid climate typical of the southern part of the county.
