Beidashan Stone Sea Forest Park is located within the Beidashan Forest Farm in Chengde County, Hebei Province. It borders the Liaoyuan River Source National Forest Park in Pingquan to the east and is 78 kilometers from downtown Chengde. Beidashan, referred to as Qilaotu Mountain on maps, is a majestic and mysterious mountain. It is part of the Yin Mountains range, stretching across Chengde County, Longhua County, and Ningcheng County in Inner Mongolia, with its highest peak exceeding 1,750 meters above sea level. Covering hundreds of square kilometers, Beidashan is an expansive area, but hidden within its deep forests and rugged mountains lies a rare natural landscape.

Let’s start with the mountain ridge scenery. Along this 10-kilometer-long ridgeline, you’ll find a dazzling array of uniquely shaped natural rock formations that captivate the eye and linger in the memory. There’s the charming Seal Rock, the lifelike Recumbent Ox Rock, the “One-Line Sky” that opens its mysterious gateway, the “Three Scholars” stepping gracefully forward. “Window Overlooking West Ridge” reveals the wonders of nature, while “Ancient Times” offers a glimpse into the primordial universe… And of course, there’s the enormous natural stone house, seemingly once inhabited by immortals, with its smooth, flat “heavenly bed” still faintly warm. Yes, everything here is so naturally harmonious and wonderfully formed by nature. Especially in a section near the summit, rocks of all sizes are piled up into clusters of undulating stone hills, resembling the Flaming Mountains from *Journey to the West*.

The mountaintop of Beidashan is a vast, flat grassland. Various wildflowers dot the green meadows, like shy maidens. "The wind blows the grass low to reveal cattle and sheep" — compared to the rugged, steep, and striking rocks, these elements bring a soft and gentle beauty.
