Chengde Qixing Lake

Qixing Lake is located within the newly developed key scenic area of the Saihanba Forest Park, three kilometers north of the Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm. Nestled amidst lush mountains and clear waters, it originally consisted of seven small lakes. From a distance, they are arranged like the Big Dipper in the sky, hence the name Qixing Lake.

Records of it date back to the Kangxi era, and today the lakes are interconnected. The water is deep, the surface is vast, and wild crucian carp swim within.

When night falls, imagine one Big Dipper in the sky and another in the water—what a poetic scene that would be. To preserve the lake's natural state, wooden floating bridges have been built across the water, with wooden cabins erected on them. Qixing Lake is a great spot to visit early in the morning, offering excellent opportunities to capture morning mist over the lake.
