Qiansongba Forest Park

Located in the northwest of Fengning County, Hebei Province, southeast of the northern Beijing grassland “Datan,” it is a newly developed tourist attraction in Bashang Grassland known for its natural secondary forest landscape. The park consists of scenic areas such as Jiaojie Gou, Dabeigou, and Baogou, forming an optimal forest-grassland combination dominated by spruce and larch. Its highest elevation reaches 1,892 meters. The area enjoys a very cool summer, with an average annual temperature of 1°C, a maximum temperature of 18.3°C, and a minimum temperature of -16.9°C. The accumulated active temperature is 1,895.6°C. The average annual precipitation is 436.7 mm, while evaporation reaches 1,595 mm. It receives 2,706 hours of sunshine annually, with a total radiation of 135 kcal per cubic centimeter. Within the main valley of the park, due to the lower terrain and dense water-conserving forests, springs emerge year-round on the ground and converge to form one of the sources of the Luan River. The park is composed of granite and gneiss, with soil classified as gray forest soil—fertile and conducive to healthy vegetation growth.
