The Qinglong Pool Tourist Scenic Area is located at the foot of Wuling Mountain, the highest peak in Eastern Hebei (30 kilometers from Wuling Mountain), bordering Chengde and the Mountain Resort to the north, and overlooking the Eastern Qing Tombs to the south. It is 15 kilometers from Xinglong County and 1.5 kilometers from the highway. By taking the Beijing-Chengde railway line and getting off at Liudaohé Railway Station, the scenic area is just 5 kilometers away. The Qinglong Pool Scenic Area boasts ancient caves, deep pools, exotic flowers, and rare plants. Renowned for its majestic mountains and crystal-clear waters, it encompasses over 20 natural attractions including Qinglong Pool, Qinglong Hall, Pearl Curtain Waterfall, Ancient Qing Tongtian Cave, and Dragon Head Mountain. Surrounded by verdant hills and clear waters, the picturesque water park offers activities such as boating, swimming, and fishing—making it an ideal place to enjoy life and cultivate the spirit.

The serene Jingxin Lake beneath Qinglong Pool may not be large in size, but it offers a variety of recreational activities, such as pedal boats, hovercrafts, duck-shaped boats, and fishing. Upstream from Jingxin Lake lies the mysterious Qinglong Pool. The pool is unfathomably deep and has a long history. During the Han Dynasty, with the rise of Taoism, numerous followers ventured into the deep mountains. On the second day of the second lunar month each year, worshippers would hold temple fairs by Qinglong Pool to pray for favorable weather and good harvests. By the pool, there is a turtle-shaped stone believed to guard the pool, as well as a century-old sacred tree that also serves as a guardian. In the early Ming Dynasty, locals voluntarily donated money and materials to build Qinglong Hall by the pool. With a history of over 500 years, the hall fell into disrepair over time and was damaged during the Cultural Revolution, leaving only ruins. In October 1999, it was reconstructed with approval from relevant authorities. Qinglong Hall consists of a main hall and side halls to the north and south. The main hall enshrines the Dragon King and the Four Sea Dragon Kings, while the sides are dedicated to the deities of Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning.

Here, you can explore ancient caves, gaze into deep pools, admire exotic flowers, and observe rare plants. Highlights include the Dragon Horn Cave, where stalactites resemble coiled dragons and crouching tigers; the Water-Longevity Mouse, which looks remarkably lifelike; the Pearl Curtain Waterfall, cascading like a curtain drawn upside down; and the Sleeping Dragon’s Mystic Fragrance, which wafts through the air. These attractions offer a refreshing and unforgettable experience. Bonfires, KTV, barbecues, fruit picking, and fireworks allow you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
