Guuyaokou Rafting is situated at the beautiful and uniquely appealing Miaogong Reservoir in Weichang County, Chengde City (90 km from Chengde, 160 km from Chifeng, 35 km from Longhua, and 40 km from Weichang). The upstream area is the national-level water conservancy scenic spot — Miaogong Reservoir, and the downstream features the mysterious Xuanwu Turtle Mountain and Lynx Peak. Both riverbanks are rich with flourishing plants and fragrant flowers and fruits. With a total drop of 48 meters between the upper and lower sections, the river spans 10–40 meters in width, featuring rapids, gentle slopes, still pools, and deep pools. The 6.8-kilometer stretch takes about two hours to navigate, making it ideal for visitors to enjoy.

Guuyaokou Rafting begins boarding below the dam of Miaogong Reservoir, rafting downstream with the current. Scenic spots along the way include: Secluded Valley, Crouching Dragon Valley, Fallen Sword Peak, Lotus Pond, Dragon Gate Shoal, Guuyaokou Water Battle Site, Left Dragon Pearl, Deep Dragon Pool, Right Dragon Pearl Rapids, Emperor’s Temporary Palace, Lynx Buddha Temple, Reed Slope, Flower and Fruit Mountain, Immortal Cave, Immortal Valley, Eagle Grief Ravine, Emperor Qianlong’s Imperial Inscription “Composed Upon Entering Guuyaokou,” Emperor Jiaqing’s Imperial Inscription “Mulang Record Stele,” Lynx Peak, and Xuanwu Turtle Mountain.

Accommodation and dining are convenient here, and the locals are very hospitable. There are hotels and restaurants, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually. The summer climate is cool and pleasant, often making visitors linger and forget to leave. The peak rafting season runs from mid-June to mid-September each year.
