The First Spring of North China is located in Beihuodao Village, Liudaoh River Town, in the western part of Xinglong County, approximately 15 kilometers from the county seat. With convenient transportation, it is a natural scenic area that combines water landscape sightseeing, leisure vacation, and health recuperation. The area is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with an average altitude of 800 meters and a vegetation coverage rate of 80%. The annual average temperature is 13 degrees Celsius, offering a pleasant climate and beautiful scenery. As the source of the Chaobai River, it is also known as the “Source of the Chaobai River.” The area is famed for its springs and water, and with its dense forests, abundant species, and fresh air, it is also called a “natural oxygen bar” and a “paradise beyond the eastern capital.”

A world of springs is formed by the “First Spring,” “Fanhui Spring,” “Nameless Spring,” “Lianxin Spring,” and “Mandarin Duck Spring.” The spring water is sweet and cool, refreshing to the heart. Springs cascade down in streams, with silver droplets splashing everywhere. The waters converge into streams that meander for 5 kilometers. In the middle section, the water collects into a lake where visitors can play in the water, fish, go boating, swim, walk across a suspended rope bridge over the water, and explore high-altitude caves. Along tree-lined forest paths, vast reed beds and peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, and various unnamed wildflowers spread across the hillsides, adding even more vibrant beauty to this picturesque natural landscape.
