The Junsheng Art Gallery showcases the sandstone painting art meticulously researched and developed over more than twenty years by its founder, Mr. Li Junsheng. Established by Mr. Li, the gallery adheres to the artistic philosophy of "simplicity, nature, and innovation," elevating sandstone painting from its inception to new heights. At the entrance, two thick stone pillars, large enough for two people to hug, are carved with Tujia ethnic legends, folk tales, and cultural motifs. In the courtyard, a patio paved with bluestone slabs is surrounded by lush flowers and delicate rockeries. The reception hall features a unique indoor waterfall cascading down from a five-story height, with splashing water droplets and the melodious tunes of Tujia love songs creating a rich Xiangxi (western Hunan) ambiance. The three-story exhibition hall, spanning 3,000 square meters, displays a series of artworks primarily featuring sandstone paintings. These pieces are visually striking and emotionally moving, leaving visitors captivated and amazed by the artistic charm of sandstone painting. Stepping into the world of sandstone painting and entering the Junsheng Art Gallery is like stepping into the artistic sanctuary of Mr. Li Junsheng, the creator of sandstone painting.

Li Junsheng, the man who writes legends with sandstone, successfully held a solo sandstone painting exhibition at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 1994. In 1999, his sandstone painting “Wuling Mountains and Rivers – the Finest Under Heaven” was collected by the China Pavilion at the Kunming World Expo. In 2000, his sandstone painting “Ancient City” won the Gold Award at the Third China Arts and Crafts Exquisite Works Fair. In 2003, his sandstone painting “Landscape” was acquired by Zhongnanhai. In 2004, his sandstone painting “Landscape Revisited” was exhibited at the “Paris · Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition” in France, and “The Soul of Wuling – Tianmen Mountain” was displayed and collected as the sole painting work in the reception hall of the China Pavilion at the 2005 Japan International Expo by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. His artistic achievements have been featured in numerous media reports both in China and abroad, and his name has been included in multiple biographical compilations.

The sandstone paintings created by Li Junsheng boldly break away from traditional painting materials, ingeniously utilizing the colors of natural plants and creatively embracing nature, making them highly valuable in terms of artistry and collectability.
