The Soviet Memorial Hall is a classic destination for red tourism.

The Zhangjiajie Chinese Soviet Memorial Hall is a quadrangle courtyard complex featuring brick-and-wood structures with a classical architectural style that blends Chinese and Western elements. The courtyard is lush with evergreen trees and blooming flowers, creating a fresh and pleasant atmosphere. To the east, there is a wooden house enclosed by three low walls, which served as the workspace and bedroom of Ren Bishi, He Long, and Xiao Ke, leaders of the Second Red Army Front. They once pondered strategies and planned campaigns at the black-painted desks here. To the west is the Provincial Party Committee Auditorium, now displaying portraits of 166 generals and marshals of the Second Red Army Front. The northern section is the Red Command Post, which housed the command center of the Second Red Army Front as well as directly affiliated departments of the Provincial Revolutionary Committee and the Provincial Military District. The southern part is an exhibition hall newly built in the style of the original Provincial Party Committee building. It displays over 300 historical photos and more than 100 revolutionary relics.

The building covers a construction area of 860 square meters and was built in 1918, featuring a brick-and-wood structure with a classical Chinese and Western architectural style. The eastern section has a wooden house enclosed by three low walls, forming a courtyard within a courtyard. The small three-door house served as the workspace and bedroom of Ren Bishi, He Long, and Xiao Ke, leaders of the Second Red Army Front. The western section is the Provincial Party Committee Auditorium, where portraits of 166 generals and marshals of the Second Red Army Front are currently displayed. The northern section is the Red Command Post, which housed the command center of the Second Red Army Front as well as directly affiliated departments of the Provincial Revolutionary Committee and the Provincial Military District. The southern section is the Provincial Party Committee building, which was restored and rebuilt as an exhibition hall during the site’s renovation. Covering a construction area of 760 square meters, it displays over 300 historical photos and more than 100 revolutionary relics, recreating the arduous history of the revolutionary struggle.
