The Zhijiang Longjin Wind and Rain Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province.

Located in Zhijiang County, Hunan Province, the Longjin Bridge was first built in the 19th year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1591), initiated by the renowned monk Kuan Yun. Having been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, it has long served as a vital transportation hub along the Hunan-Guizhou Highway and a bustling gathering place for merchants and travelers. Historically known as the “Foremost Bridge in Southwest Chu.” In early 1999, the Longjin Bridge began reconstruction once more and was completed on November 7, 1999. The newly restored Longjin Wind and Rain Bridge is 146.7 meters long and 12.2 meters wide, making it the largest wind and rain bridge in the world today. The entire structure is made entirely of wood, without a single nail or rivet. It boasts a grand and imposing presence, resembling a long dragon stretching across the two riverbanks from east to west. It not only preserves the architectural and cultural essence of the Dong ethnic region but also fully reflects contemporary garden architecture artistry.

In 2019, the former site of the Western Hunan Xuefengshan Campaign — Zhijiang Longjin Wind and Rain Bridge — was approved as the 10th batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units in Hunan Province.

Zhijiang Town: The three townships of Mayingtang, Zhupingpu, and Aitouping, along with Zhijiang Town, were merged to form the newly established Zhijiang Town.

A town under the jurisdiction of Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County and the county seat. It was known as Chengguan Town in 1953, renamed Zhijiang Town in 1981, with the town government located on East Street. It lies in the central-eastern part of the county. The urban area is surrounded by flat terrain, covering an area of 64 square kilometers with a population of 32,000. National Highway 320 and the Qunshui River run through the town.
