The ancient temple is located within Fuku Village, Fukou Town, on the mountainside of Zhennan Mountain to the southwest of the Fukou Town government seat. It faces the Guishui River, National Highway 207, and the under-construction Er'guang Expressway, overlooks Lion Mountain, sits against the scenic Meijiang area, neighbors the ancient town of Meicheng to the left, and borders the new urban area of Lianyuan to the right. Originally built in the early years of the Ming Dynasty, it enshrines 24 Heavenly Deities, Guan Shengdi Jun (Lord Guan), and the Goddess of Mercy. In the 36th year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign, the temple was renovated and expanded. Since then, devotees have flocked here to worship, making the temple increasingly popular and widely renowned. In 1917, Mao Zedong visited Fukou during his educational tour and explored this historic site with classmates such as Luo Yuxiong, Luo Zhuoxiong, and Luo Zonghan.
