Announcement of the 6th Jiyuan Mount Wangwu International Tourism & Mountaineering Festival
The event is jointly organized by the People's Government of Jiyuan City, Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau, Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, and Henan Investment Group; co-hosted by the Henan Provincial Social Sports Management Center, Henan Mountaineering Association, Publicity Department of Jiyuan Municipal Committee, Jiyuan Municipal Tourism Bureau, Jiyuan Municipal Sports Bureau, Jiyuan Municipal Land and Resources Bureau, Jiyuan Daily, Henan Investment Group Tourism Development Co., Ltd., and Mount Wangwu Scenic Area Administration; with support from the Jiyuan Post Office.

II. National Mass Mountaineering Fitness Festival Event Details
(I) Competition Rules
Competition Date: April 21, 2012
Categories: The competition includes Men’s & Women’s Youth Groups (ages 18–35, April 1, 1977 – March 31, 1994); Men’s & Women’s Middle-Aged Groups (ages 36–50, April 1, 1962 – March 31, 1977); and a Foreign Guests Group, totaling five categories.
Course: Starts from Wangwu Villa in Mount Wangwu Scenic Area, passes through the Ginkgo Tree TianTan Divine Path, and ends at TianTan Peak, approximately 4 km — the same route taken by the Yellow Emperor for his legendary mountain climb to worship heaven.
Prizes: Top 50 winners in each category will be awarded. Prize money is ¥3,000 for 1st place, ¥2,000 for 2nd, and ¥1,000 for 3rd. All winning athletes will also receive trophies, medals, and certificates issued by the Henan Provincial Sports Bureau.
Places 4 to 10 will each receive ¥200. Athletes ranked 11 to 50 will receive two “Enjoy Henan” tourism package tickets each.
No prizes will be awarded for the Foreign Guests Group.
(II) Event Schedule
Registration deadline: 6:00 PM, April 18.
Athlete check-in period: 9:00 AM, April 19 – 12:00 PM, April 20 (Venue: East Square of Basketball City)
April 21 – 7:00 AM: Mountaineering participants gather at the registration point (East Square of Basketball City) for group transfer to Mount Wangwu Scenic Area.
April 21 – 9:00 AM: Opening Ceremony (Venue: Wangwu Villa)
9:30 AM: Mountaineering race begins.
2:00 PM: Award ceremony (Venue: Wangwu Villa)
3:00 PM: Athletes assemble at the scenic area parking lot before being escorted out.
(III) Registration Method
Registration Period: April 9 – April 18
Athletes may call 0391-6896789 or 0391-6831236 to register, or sign up online at www.jylyw.net (Jiyuan Tourism Website).
All athletes must check in during 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, April 19 or 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, April 20, at the East Square of Basketball City. On-site registration is also available. Please bring your ID card, complete registration to receive your competition bib, and sign a liability waiver.
There is no registration fee for the competition.
(4) Precautions
1. To ensure the safety and timely arrival of athletes at the competition venue in the scenic area, the organizers will arrange transportation from the city to the scenic area. The round-trip fare is 20 RMB per person, which is to be covered by the athletes themselves. Athletes who need the bus service should register at the registration desk upon check-in.
2. A personal accident insurance fee of 10 RMB per person must be paid upon check-in.
3. Registered athletes are not required to provide their own medical examination certificates to the organizers, but they must sign a liability waiver as follows:
(1) I voluntarily register to participate in the 6th China Jiyuan Wangwushan International Tourism Mountaineering Festival and all related activities (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Competition);
(2) I fully understand and agree to comply with all regulations, rules, requirements, and measures formulated by the organizing committee;
(3) I fully understand the risks involved in participating in the competition and have taken necessary precautions; I am willing to bear the risks of any accidents that may occur during the competition and agree that the organizers will not be liable for any compensation, whether due to injury, death, or any other form of loss, unless caused by the organizers;
(4) I agree to receive on-site emergency medical treatment provided by the organizers during the competition, but any related costs for hospital treatment shall be borne by me;
(5) I authorize the organizers and designated media to use my likeness, name, voice, and other personal information free of charge for the organization and promotion of the competition;
(6) I agree to provide the organizers with valid identification and information for identity verification, and I accept full responsibility for any inaccuracies in the provided documents;
(7) I agree to have the organizers insure me under a personal accident insurance policy. The details have been made known to me through the insurance description, and I fully acknowledge them;
(8) I or my legal guardian have carefully read and fully understood the above content, confirm all the above, and accept corresponding legal responsibilities.
4. On the morning of April 21st at 7:00 AM, athletes will gather at the east square of Jiyuan Basketball City for a bus ride to Wangwushan Scenic Area.
5. On April 21st, participating athletes can enter Wangwushan Scenic Area free of charge by showing their competition number bibs. Cable car rides are available at a 50% discount with the number bibs.
6. Before April 21st, athletes can visit Wangwushan Scenic Area to familiarize themselves with the competition route. The entrance fee is 10 RMB with a competition number bib.
7. From April 21st to 22nd, athletes can enjoy a 50% discount on Wulongkou Scenic Area tickets by presenting their ID and competition number bib.
8. The first 1,000 people to check in will receive a free commemorative T-shirt.

[Competition Guidelines]
1. Athletes must present their original ID, competition number bib, and timing card (issued before the competition) in order to participate.
2. All participants must check in and collect their competition number bibs at the east square of Jiyuan Basketball City from 9:00 to 18:00 on April 19th, and from 9:00 to 12:00 on April 20th.
3. Traffic control will be implemented within the scenic area on the day of the competition. To avoid inconvenience, the organizing committee recommends that athletes take the transportation provided by the organizers and travel to the scenic area together. Athletes using the provided transportation must purchase a bus card during registration and must arrive at the basketball city with the card at 6:30 AM on April 21st to board the designated bus. The bus will depart promptly at 7:00 AM. Latecomers will not be waited for. Return will be via the same vehicle, with the descent time at 3:00 PM. Please arrive on time.
4. All participants must arrive at Wangwushan Mountain Villa in the scenic area by 8:00 AM on April 21st for check-in. Those who arrive late or fail to present complete documents will be disqualified.
5. The starting point of the competition is Wangwushan Mountain Villa, and the finish line is Tian Tan Summit, with a total distance of about 4 kilometers and an altitude of 1,715 meters. Two checkpoints (for distributing checkpoint cards) are set up along the way. Competing athletes must hike along the designated route and obtain corresponding marks at the checkpoints. Both marks must be obtained; otherwise, the result will be invalid. Competition prizes and souvenirs will be distributed after the award ceremony at Wangwushan Mountain Villa, based on the competition number bib, ID, and timing card.
6. Athletes found to be impersonating others, hiking outside the designated time or route, or engaging in other suspected cheating behaviors will be disqualified immediately.
7. When entering the scenic area, participants must actively show relevant documents, follow the arrangements and instructions of staff, obey organization, prioritize safety, and are strictly prohibited from visiting dangerous areas outside the hiking routes. Any consequences resulting from such actions will be the individual's responsibility.
8. Athletes who reach the summit before 12:00 noon on the same day will have the chance to receive a souvenir.
9. Athletes who place in the rankings must check in at the registration desk under the guidance of the judges. Results not checked in will not be confirmed, and corresponding rankings will be invalidated.
10. Due to limited cable car capacity, after reaching the finish line, athletes should plan their descent time reasonably. A 50% discount on the cable car is available upon presenting your competition number bib.
11. During the competition, athletes must climb on the right, be mindful to yield, and if overtaking is necessary, call out in advance and pass on the left.
