The Futou Lake Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

Futou Lake Kiln Site

Located on the northern shore of Futou Lake in Jiangxia District, Wuhan City, within the territories of Fasi Township, Fanhu Township, Anshan Township, and Henao Township, it is a cluster of kilns dating from the Five Dynasties to the Yuan Dynasty, covering an area of approximately 20 square kilometers. In 1984, 39 porcelain kilns were discovered, including 34 mound-shaped kilns and 5 dragon kilns. The tallest mound reaches up to 12 meters in height, with a base diameter of about 15 meters, while the dragon kilns are generally 30–40 meters long. Collected porcelain fragments are mostly reddish-brown in body color, with glaze colors including green, blue, yellow, yellowish-brown, and black. The vessel shapes include spouted jars, olive-shaped jars, flat-bottomed bowls, low-ring-footed bowls, ewers, and jar-shaped vessels. Kiln furniture includes cylindrical saggars and support rings with nipple studs, with the stacking and upward firing method being predominant. (Third Batch)
