Below is a list of popular firefly-watching destinations across Taiwan, helping travelers plan their visits in advance. ● Firefly-Watching Spots Across Taiwan:

◎ Northern Taiwan: National Taiwan Ocean University, Hushan Creek, Yangmingshan, Round Moon Lake Forest Recreation Area, Shiding Ergeshan, Wulai Ecological Farm, Tucheng Chengtian Temple, Dongyanshan Forest Recreation Area, Neiwan Dongwo Creek in Hsinchu, Beibu Town in Hsinchu, etc.
◎ Central Taiwan: Miaoli Shengxing Railway Station, Greater Snow Mountain Community in Taichung, Dongshi Forest Farm, Zhonghe Village and Fuxing Village in Xinshe Township, Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area, Aowanda Forest Recreation Area, Huisan Forest Farm, Tanan Community, Lianhuachi, Qilin Pond, Phoenix Valley Bird Park, Shanfeng Community, Sun Moon Lake Taomi Community.
◎ Southern Taiwan: Meiling in Tainan, Dingbenzi Community, Rili Scenic Area in Alishan, Chiayi, Meiling Scenic Area, Namaxia District, Yuquan Community, Hengchun Ecological Farm, She Ding Nature Park, Guanshan Village at Nanhua Reservoir.

● Tips for Photographing Fireflies:

1. Use a red light to illuminate the path only—never shine it directly on people or fireflies (regular flashlights should be covered with red cellophane).
2. Do not step into grassy areas.
3. Do not use flash when taking photos.
4. If you arrive after dark, manually adjust your camera focus—do not use autofocus assist lights.
5. Keep quiet to avoid scaring the fireflies away.
6. Do not attempt to catch fireflies.
7. Be mindful of slippery or dewy conditions in certain viewing areas.
