Jinjiawan Scenic Area

Jinjiawan is located at the southern gateway of Yuan’an County, in Hualinsi Village, Hualinsi Town, covering a total area of 2,500 mu with a population of over 500 people. It is adjacent to Provincial Highway 224 and the exit of the Baoyi Expressway Yuan’an section, just 5 kilometers from the downtown area of Mingfeng. The transportation is very convenient. Jinjiawan is renowned for its unique Danxia landscape blending mountain, water, and countryside scenery. The scenic area boasts over 40 Danxia hills, making it the largest and most typical Danxia landform distribution area in Hubei Province. The majestic, steep, serene mountains and undulating rock walls provide ideal conditions for sightseeing, rock climbing, and adventure activities, offering extremely high value for both tourism appreciation and scientific research.

To efficiently develop premium resources and accelerate the transformation and development of the county’s economy, under the broader initiative of creating a fully scenic county and driven by the “tourism-driven prosperity for all” strategy, in October 2014, the county Party committee and government launched the development and construction of Jinjiawan. After one year and four months, the project has now been largely completed. The total planned area is 2,500 mu, with an investment of 57.65 million yuan. It consists of Phase I landscape engineering and Phase II projects including wooden cabin hotels and ecological swimming pools. Phase I landscape engineering includes the construction of tourist service facilities, viewing pavilions, campsites, lake landscapes, walking trails, hiking paths, parking lots, and landscape amenities. Phase II mainly includes an ecological swimming pool, boutique wooden cabin hotel, RV campsite, and cave hotel. Among these, the swimming pool, wooden cabin hotel, and RV campsite have been completed and are open to the public, while the cave hotel is currently in the planning and design phase. Once fully operational, the site will accommodate up to 3,000 visitors, effectively boosting local farmers’ income and creating a modern ecological leisure park for urban and rural residents as well as a sightseeing and vacation destination for tourists. It is also the largest Danxia landscape and countryside scenic area in Hubei Province, and the only specialized theme camping park in Central China.
