The Three Gorges Water Country Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Three Gorges Water Country Scenic Area is located in Mingfeng Town, Yuan'an County, Yichang City. It gets its name from Beimen Village, where the scenic area is situated, as this village was among the first relocation settlements for migrants displaced by the Three Gorges Project. Covering an area of 15,000 acres, the scenic area is developed with the goal of creating "China's Most Charming Rural Water Town." It blends vitality, fantasy, and harmony into a comprehensive service-oriented tourist resort that meets visitors' needs for leisure, recreation, and experiences. It also serves as a model rural tourism demonstration site showcasing lush mountains and clear waters, promoting harmony between humans and water, restoring natural ecology, and improving the human environment. In addition, the scenic area is Yichang's first research and study travel base.

Mingfeng Town: Located in the central part of Yuan'an County on the left bank of the middle reaches of the Ju River, Mingfeng Town is the political, economic, and cultural center of the county. About 3,500 meters to the west of the town lies a high mountain known for its beautiful scenery. Legend has it that during the Baoyu era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1253–1259 AD), the sound of a phoenix’s cry was heard coming from the mountain, hence the name Mingfeng Mountain (Phoenix Mountain). The town is named after its proximity to Mingfeng Mountain. The town covers an area of 75.75 square kilometers, with 694 hectares of cultivated land, 4,518 hectares of forested land, and administers 7 villages and 4 residential (committee) areas, with a population of 18,700 households and 43,500 people.
