The guest room section can accommodate 60 people, while the restaurant can serve up to 300 diners at once. It houses a comprehensive wholesale department offering a range of products including dried and fresh fish, various crab products, and premium branded crabs. Hengtong Mountain Villa is currently the only hotel on Liangzi Island that specializes in developing unique preparation methods for steamed crabs. Its standout feature is the “Hengxing Gongzi” Red Bean Paste Eco-Clear-Water Crab — the island’s top-brand crab. The crabs are exquisitely and uniquely prepared, ensuring not only a worry-free and enjoyable dining experience but also immersing you in the rich culinary culture surrounding crabs. There are numerous ways to prepare crabs, such as steamed crab, stir-fried crab meat, drunken crab, crab roe stir-fry, crab-meal-coated crab, hibiscus crab, crab roe tofu, and many more. Among these, the safest and most flavorful method is steaming. Steamed crabs not only require the crabs themselves to be of premium quality (a good lake produces good crabs, but not all crabs from Liangzi Lake are of the highest standard — some are fully mature, others not; some have rich roe and bean paste, others less so; there are seasonal differences in crab quality, as well as issues with over-maturity, which non-professionals may not easily discern), but they also demand particularly meticulous preparation.
