The Qinghe City Ruins are a protected cultural heritage site of Hubei Province.

Qinghe City Ruins

Located in Qinghe Village, Ganchang Town, Gong’an County, these are ruins from the Neolithic Age. The site is approximately 300 meters long from east to west and 200–240 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of around 60,000 square meters. The remains of the city walls are visible on the surface, with their shape largely intact. The base of the walls is about 30 meters wide. Collected pottery fragments are mainly red pottery, with some black and gray pottery. The vessel shapes primarily include dou (food containers), basins, ding (tripod cauldrons), bowls, and cups, with few decorative patterns. Some include concave string patterns, raised string patterns, appliqué patterns, and cord-marked designs. This site is a well-preserved late Neolithic-age city, holding significant value for the study of the social complexification process in the Jianghan region.
