The Ministry of Public Security has recently made arrangements to launch a nationwide unified operation to crack down on serious traffic violations by passenger and freight vehicles, in order to further advance the ongoing nationwide road traffic safety inspection and strictly prevent major and serious traffic accidents during the summer. It is understood that the focus of this crackdown will be on major highways such as the Beijing–Harbin, Beijing–Shanghai, Beijing–Taipei, Beijing–Hong Kong–Macao, Beijing–Kunming, Beijing–Tibet, Shenyang–Haikou, Daguang, Lianyungang–Khorgas, and Shanghai–Kunming, as well as major national roads including National Highways 102, 104, 107, 108, 112, 205, 207, 312, 318, and 324, along with heavily trafficked and accident-prone provincial trunk roads and roads leading to key tourist attractions. The operation will focus on cracking down on serious, reckless, and dangerous driving behaviors such as overloading, speeding, overcrowding, fatigued driving, and illegal lane occupation by buses, tourist charter buses, and medium and large freight vehicles.
    A person in charge of the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security stated that during the crackdown period, public security traffic management departments will concentrate superior police forces and leverage technological means, combining online patrols, fixed-point controls, and dynamic law enforcement on the roads to promptly identify and rectify key traffic violations by passenger and freight vehicles, eliminate safety hazards, and prevent accidents.
