Qingshan Cliff Cave Weir is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Qingshan Cliff Cave Weir

Located within the Qingshan Rock Cave in Qingshan Village, Qingshan Town, Chongyang County. Built in the sixth year of the Xianfeng era (1865), it makes use of a natural cave. The circular cave entrance is 2–15 meters wide. About 250 meters inside the cave is a deep pool, where a masonry dam was built to block the water, and pottery culverts were then used to divert the water outside the cave. More than 200 pottery culverts were assembled, stretching over 400 meters in total. Due to the installation, over 20 brick and stone piers were erected, more than ten stalactites were drilled through, and over 160 stone cantilever beams were inserted into the cave walls. Near the cave entrance stands a stone stele from the second year of the Guangxu era (1876), documenting the construction process of the weir. (Third Batch)
