Tomb of Martyr Chen Shouchang

The Tomb of Martyr Chen Shouchang is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province and a classic red tourism attraction.

Tomb of Martyr Chen Shouchang

Located in Fanshang Village, Jintang Town, Chongyang County. Chen Shouchang (1906–1934) was from Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1924 and once served as Chairman of the All-China Soviet Labor Union, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic, Secretary of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Political Commissar of the Military District, and Political Commissar of the 16th Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, among other positions. He sacrificed his life here in 1934. The tomb has an earthen mound 1.5 meters high and 3 meters in base diameter, with a gravestone in front inscribed “Tomb of Martyr Chen Shouchang.” It holds important historical value for studying the revolutionary history of Martyr Chen Shouchang and for conducting patriotic education.
