Chence Lou Zaishang Site

The Chence Lou Zaishang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Hubei Province.

Zaishang Site

Located in Baozinao Village, Chence Lou Town, Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, the Zaishang Site is a relic from the Shang and Zhou periods. It extends from north to south, measuring about 250 meters in length and 70–130 meters in width, with an area of more than 30,000 square meters and a cultural layer thickness of 1.5–3 meters. Shang Dynasty pottery fragments collected here are mainly sandy black-brown pottery with cord-patterned decorations, and vessel types include tripods, jars, and urns; Western Zhou pottery fragments are predominantly sandy red pottery, followed by sandy brown pottery, also featuring cord patterns, with vessel forms such as tripods, steamers, jars, beans, and bowls. This site is a well-preserved Shang and Zhou site discovered in eastern Hubei and holds significant academic value.
