The Beamless Hall and Pagoda of Chezhou Mountain

The Beamless Hall and Pagoda of Chezhou Mountain are cultural relics protection units of Hebei Province.

Chezhou Mountain is located at longitude 118.15°E and latitude 39.8°N, with an elevation of 58.9 meters. Its summit features a flat area of 1,260.9 square meters. Originally, this flat area housed two halls and one pagoda. The surrounding terrain is flat. The Fenghan Highway runs north-south along the western foot of the mountain. Three kilometers to the north of the mountain, the Nihe River, which flows from east to west, turns southward and joins the Jiyun Canal. The land here is fertile and suitable for growing a variety of crops.

The two halls and one pagoda on the summit are the Beamless Hall, the Wenchang Hall, and the Yaoshi Ling Pagoda.

According to the Fengrun County Annals revised during the Longqing era: “The Shoufeng Temple, located twenty li south of the county on Chezhou Mountain, has a Wuliang Hall, one pagoda, and was built during the Song Chongxi period.”
