The former site of Fengrun Middle School is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a representative campus building from the modern era (1913–1925). It is located in Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province.

After the Xinhai Revolution, education in Fengrun developed rapidly. By 1912, six higher primary schools had been established. To address the difficulty students faced in advancing to higher education, Fengrun Preparatory Middle School was separated from Zunhua Official Middle School. In the spring of 1913, Fengrun Middle School was established, with Li Qiuye serving as the principal. In 1914, the school moved to Chezhou Mountain and utilized the halls of Shoufeng Temple to build the new campus. In the autumn of 1914, Guo Lihang took over as principal. During his tenure, Guo personally designed the campus. He successively constructed a Romanesque two-story library, a tall and spacious meeting hall, the principal’s office, the accounting office, and the guardhouse. At the southernmost end was a monumental gate with an iron lattice design resembling a traditional memorial archway. On both sides of the central axis, buildings were arranged in fan-like formation, with over 300 rooms forming various teaching and dormitory areas, creating a grand, unique, and artistically landscaped campus. Fengrun Middle School also became a nationally renowned institution of the highest caliber.
