Heluo Ancient City, a thousand-acre cultural tourism complex integrating dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment. In terms of architectural style, to highlight the cultural heritage of Luoyang as the capital of thirteen dynasties, Heluo Ancient City adopts the Ming and Qing styles characterized by grey bricks, grey tiles, carved beams, and painted rafters. In the open exhibition areas, winding corridors and flowing water, rockeries and gardens are crafted, with vividly colored paintings of birds, trees, and landscapes at every turn, elegant and spacious enclosed Chinese courtyards, all exquisitely recreating the grandeur of palace and garden landscapes during the peak of Ming and Qing architecture. Being there not only offers a strong sense of traveling back to the imperial courts, but also amazes visitors with the exceptional craftsmanship and wisdom of Chinese builders, as well as the artful harmony between nature and architecture in traditional Chinese courtyard homes.

In addition to the Wenfeng Pagoda ruins within the scenic area, the architectural style of Luoyi Ancient City also mainly follows the Ming and Qing styles, with detailing leaning more toward northern residential designs, as can be seen from the beams, window frames, and panels that are not adorned with any painted decorations. (*Painted decorations were a privilege reserved for royalty and officials during feudal times). Heluo Ancient City and Luoyi Ancient City offer two distinct visual experiences—one flamboyant and ornate, the other delicate and rustic.
