Jiezhuang Site

The Jiezhuang Site, located in Jiezhuang Village, Xiaoqi Township, Baofeng County, Henan Province, was first built during the Neolithic Age. On June 8, 2006, the Jiezhuang Site was included in the fourth batch of Henan Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Xiaoqi Township: Xiaoqi Township is under the jurisdiction of Baofeng County, Henan Province, adjacent to the northern part of Baofeng County town. The township government is 4 kilometers from the county town. Adjacent townships include Nanchengguan Town, Southeast Zhouzhuang Town, East Shiqiao Town, North Zhaozhuang Township, and West Shangjiuwu Town. It covers a total area of 63.5 square kilometers, with 53,000 mu of arable land and a total population of 36,000. It administers 25 administrative villages, 63 natural villages, and 164 villager groups. The township Party committee has 1 general Party branch and 37 Party branches, with a total of 851 Party members. Mr. Tsui Tsien, the 1998 Nobel Laureate in Physics and a Chinese American, was born in Fan Zhuang Natural Village of this township.
