Gusa Pond

: Near Cai Ziyan in the Huangbai Mountain Scenic Area, there are two ponds that face each other from a distance. One pond, located within Henan Province and artificially created, is called “Sister-in-law Pond.” It is 20 meters long, 10 meters wide, and 3 meters deep, with a water drop of nearly 10 meters at the top. The other pond lies beneath Lion Peak within Hubei Province and is called “Sister Pond.” It is 10 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 3 meters. Legend has it that a sister and her sister-in-law were as close as real sisters. Unable to bear the abuse from her mother-in-law, the sister-in-law jumped into the pond. The sister followed her to her death, and both were transformed into butterflies, dancing gracefully above the pond. This gave rise to the local folk tale of the Butterfly Dance.
