Tangquan Pool (Mingyang Hot Springs) is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Located in Shangcheng County, Tangquan Pool backs onto the lush Dalei Mountain and faces the shimmering Hot Spring Lake (Nianyu Mountain Reservoir), blending mountains, water, and springs into one. Dense forests and slender bamboos line winding paths leading to serene spots, while pavilions with upturned eaves rise above the treetops and terraces overlook the water’s edge. Egrets take flight at dawn, and colorful fish leap playfully around fishing boats. The mountain is praised as a "fairyland," and the waters are known as "medicinal springs," making it a premier destination for recuperation and leisure, as well as a AAA-level scenic area.

Tangquan Pool is particularly renowned for the therapeutic effects of its hot spring water. The spring water is clear and clean, with temperatures ranging from 56°C to 58°C. It contains various elements such as strontium, silver, titanium, boron, chromium, copper, lead, calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, and fluorine. Classified as a mild spring, silicate spring, and fluoride spring, it offers significant benefits for skin diseases, rheumatism, gastrointestinal disorders, as well as neurological, respiratory, surgical, and gynecological conditions—especially with an over 80% cure rate for skin and rheumatic diseases. Even healthy individuals can enjoy skin beautification, improved appetite, and better sleep from regular bathing, hence its reputation as a "medicinal spring." In ancient times, to harness the healing properties of the springs, a Hot Spring Academy and Jingfan Temple were built here.

Tangquan Pool boasts beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate. In addition to the therapeutic hot springs, it offers numerous natural and cultural attractions for visitors to enjoy. In the middle of the reservoir, there’s a solitary island with the Shen Shui Pavilion, where visitors can listen to the waves and admire panoramic views of the hot springs. On Elephant Trunk Mountain, the Li Zhi Pavilion commemorates the Ming Dynasty philosopher and writer Li Zhi. Visitors can take boat rides on the lake, surrounded by vast blue waters, taking in the picturesque mountains and waters that inspire poetic imagery—"peaks reflected upside-down, as if floating on water; no mountain or water scene lacks divine beauty." Around Tangquan Pool, there are scenic rock formations like "Stone Boats Racing," "Stone Chest Hiding Treasures," "Stone Figures Watching the Moon," "Stone Monkeys Playing," and "Visitors from the Sky," all vividly lifelike and full of charm. There are also clusters of peaks such as the Greater and Lesser Dalei Mountains, Sister Peaks, and Huangpi Fort, competing in beauty. The Xiangshui Pool produces sounds like chiming bells, creating a spectacular sight.

The Greater and Lesser Dalei Mountains near Tangquan Pool are covered in dense forests and dotted with peculiar rocks. The two mountains stand close together like brothers. On the eastern slope, stacked stones resemble formations that seem to have flown in from elsewhere, earning the nickname "Visitors from the Sky."

About 500 meters northwest of Dalei Mountain lies Sister Peaks, also known as Gushan Fort. This area features the Drumming Stone (also called Black Stone Cover), spanning about 10 square meters with grass growing on top. Stepping on it produces a drum-like thudding sound. Other attractions include "Turtle Shell," "Hairy Dog Cave," and "Racing Ground."

Several miles south of Tangquan Pool, the landscape is filled with ever-changing peculiar rocks. In Longjing River, there’s a stone boat measuring 6 meters long and 3 meters wide, with slightly upturned ends. Its base is supported by just two stones, making it appear suspended mid-air, as if racing with the wind. Pushing it gently causes the boat to sway, mimicking movement on water. Beside the boat are stone drums, stone chairs, stone basins, and other formations, all strikingly realistic and amusingly companionable.

On the eastern bank of Huangpi Fort Mountain, stands a 4-meter-tall, 1-meter-square stone figure facing southeast. Other formations like "Stone Drum Shaking the Heavens," "Stone Dog," and "Stone Rooster Crowing at Dawn" each have their own unique expressions, inviting deep contemplation.
