The Anyang Snowflake Cave is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Snowflake Cave is located in Maxiang Township. It is a natural karst cave formed by unique limestone landforms, featuring interconnected chambers of varying sizes, seventy-two scenic spots, and unfathomable depths. It is called the Snowflake Cave because there are many white, snowflake-like objects inside. However, due to the large number of visitors and incense burning by worshippers, the snowflake-like objects are now almost impossible to see.

The Snowflake Cave Tourist Area in Anyang’s Shuangfeng District centers around the Snowflake Temple and includes other temples such as the Grandmother Temple, Dragon King Temple, Great Sage Temple, Jade Emperor Hall, Guanyin Hall, Medicine King Hall, and Queen Mother Hall. Although the temples are not large in scale and the architecture is not of high standard, they cover a comprehensive range of content, embodying rich cultural beliefs in Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The area has a strong religious culture atmosphere and vibrant folk worship, making it a central element of the tourist site.

The Snowflake Cave extends deep into the earth with great potential for further exploration and development, making it a core tourist attraction. Inside the cave, snow-like stone flowers, stalactites, stalagmites, and stone pillars create stunning visual effects. The locals have built temples within the cave, resulting in profound religious and cultural heritage that greatly influences the surrounding communities, forming the thematic and cultural essence of the tourist area.

In the Snowflake Cave Tourist Area of Anyang’s Shuangfeng District, some traditional villages retain classic rural architectural styles. Most homes are built from stone, showcasing the ancient stonework village charm of the Taihang Mountains. Especially in Longweigang Village, residences are spread along the mountain ridge, surrounded by peaks, with the Henghe River flowing at the foot of the village. The layout follows the terrain, offering a unique mountain village appeal. The simple stone houses, hospitable villagers, and lush vegetation attract visitors from all over.

The Wagongou North Cave in the Snowflake Cave Tourist Area of Anyang’s Shuangfeng Mountain is the site where Communist martyrs such as Guo Taokang and Li Jiming were killed during the September resistance against Japanese aggression. A revolutionary martyrs’ monument now stands on the ridge. The heroes' deeds educate generations of descendants in this land, reminding us to honor the martyrs, cherish peace, and never forget national humiliation. This makes it an important red tourism destination and patriotic education base in Anyang. Additionally, many stories of the resistance against Japan are passed down in this heroic land, contributing to a rich red tourism culture.

Maxiang Township: Maxiang Township administers 22 administrative villages including Kequan, Beiqi, Wangjiagang, Dingzhuang, Zhaojia, Xindayan, Jiajia, Nanyan, Majia, Daqiao, Dongpo, Chipo, Dongnao, Jiaokou, Naohou, Li庄, Lingtou, Longweigang, Zhaohe, Shajing, Hengling, and Guojiayao, comprising 93 villager groups. The township has a total of 7,839 households and 25,623 residents.
