Luzhu is located in the northeast of Taoyuan. It not only has diverse hilly terrain offering beautiful night views, but also benefits from convenient transportation after the completion of the airport MRT. Moreover, there are many historic mansions that have witnessed the local area’s rise and fall. Why not take your family for a stroll in Luzhu this weekend?

Follow in the footsteps of the shepherds of the past, stepping along the gullies of the tributary of the Nanxi River. The scenes of sheepfolds (known as "yangchou" in Hokkien, meaning sheep pens) and grazing are no longer to be seen, but many hikers now traverse this quiet mountain trail. The Yangchou Pit Forest Trail is approximately 3.3 kilometers long, mostly flat and easy to walk. Along the way, you’ll find lush greenery and can even gaze at the high-speed rail trains passing through tunnels. It’s definitely worth the trip.

The Kengkou Painted Village is located right next to the century-old Luzhu “Chengsheng Temple.” On the streets of red-tiled farmhouses, you can admire playful artworks inspired by the local rural characteristics. Aside from the Chengsheng Temple, which worships the main deity Guan Shengdi, the Kengkou community also features traditional rural settlements formed by local residents. Now, with the community painting activities promoted by art-driven rural revitalization, residents have worked together to paint the walls of the village. Gradually transforming, the Kengkou community has gained fame as a painted village.

The Luzhu Dafu Mansion in Luzhu, Taoyuan, is located near the Airport MRT A17 Lingying Station. This 300- to 400-year-old Anhui-style mansion was disassembled in China’s Anhui Province and reassembled in Taiwan by its owner, showing great thoughtfulness. Huizhou-style architecture is one of the most important schools of ancient Chinese architecture, including residences, ancestral temples, and memorial archways. It features rich spatial designs and a strong sense of rhythm, blending architectural carving art with stone, wood, and brick carvings, giving it a magnificent appearance. Inside, there is also Du’s Mansion Cafe, where an ancient residence meets a coffee shop, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere.
