The Tianhu Natural Scenic Area in Shunping County is located within Shen Nan Township, Shunping County, Baoding Region. The area was developed for tourism and opened to the public in 1994. The Tianhu Scenic Area spans a total of 50 square kilometers, consisting of four major zones—Tianhu, Xianjie Gorge, Beilong Gorge, and Purple Bamboo Mountain—as well as more than 80 natural attractions. Among them, “Yao’s Mother Worshiping Heaven” is a representative scenic highlight. The area combines the gentle beauty of southern landscapes with the rugged grandeur of the north. The waters of Tianhu Lake are clear and transparent, with soft sand and pebbles, birdsong, and fragrant flowers. Xianjie Gorge features peculiar peaks and deep valleys; Beilong Gorge showcases a myriad of competing peaks, along with the Memorial Pavilion of Marshal Yang Chengwu's Ladder Gully Breakout. Purple Bamboo Mountain is shrouded in misty clouds, creating an ethereal and dreamlike atmosphere.
