Hebei University Museum

Hebei University Museum is a science education base.

Hebei University Museum was established in 1996 through the merger of the cultural relics room from the former History Department and the specimen room from the Biology Department. Its history can be traced back to the early 20th century, originating from the Beijiang Museum founded by French Catholic priest Émile Licent. The museum currently houses over 1.5 million animal specimens and more than 7,000 cultural relics. It is the only comprehensive university museum in Hebei Province and the only university museum in the province to be selected for the National Alliance of University Museums for Education under the Ministry of Education.

Our museum is currently recognized as a National Science Education Base, a National Wildlife Conservation Science Education Base, a Provincial-Level Science Education Base in Hebei Province, one of the first external science exhibition bases under the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, a Baoding Youth Science Education Base, and a Baoding Youth Science and Technology Education Training Base, among others.

The museum currently features seven biological exhibitions, namely the "Exhibition on Animal Systematics," "Aquatic Animals Exhibition," "Hexapod Animals Exhibition," "Insect Culture Exhibition," "Arachnid Animals Exhibition," "Achievements in Animal Classification Exhibition," and "Animal Resources Scientific Expedition Exhibition." It receives a large number of visitors from both domestic and international backgrounds, as well as from within and outside the university, every year.
