Zuoying is located in the southwestern part of Kaohsiung City and is the city's third-largest district. It can be divided into three sections: Old Village, XinShe, and the Military Dependents’ Villages. The Dragon and Tiger Towers, located opposite the Ciji Temple, feature two uniquely spectacular towers built in vibrant colors. Local legend says that “entering the dragon’s mouth and exiting the tiger’s mouth” brings great fortune. These towers are beloved by Taiwanese visitors and also fascinate international tourists with their unique customs.

The Guomao Community in Zuoying, with its dense and large-scale buildings, gives the illusion of being in Hong Kong’s Monster Building complex, like the Sea and Mountain Towers. The community consists of 13 buildings, renovated from a decades-old Navy Military Dependents’ Village. The architecture is specially designed as an onion-like concentric circle community. Two semi-circular buildings form a perfect circle, creating a unique visual aesthetic.

Xingfu Alley, a dessert shop that has been operating quietly in Kaohsiung for nearly 20 years, originally started in a small alley next to Hanshin Department Store. It’s a nostalgic dessert spot beloved by locals since childhood. The shop mainly sells retro-style desserts, with a focus on handmade almond tofu free from any preservatives, paired with a variety of carefully brewed toppings — a delightful taste you won’t forget.

Zhouzi Wetland Park is located by Lotus Pond in Zuoying and is an ecologically restored habitat that successfully brought back various species of birds and aquatic plants using ecological engineering methods. To avoid disturbing the resident birds, visitors must make online reservations for guided tours. Stroll along the minimally developed natural trails and admire the beautiful wetland ecosystem.
