Light vehicles, light meals, light travel – Kaohsiung’s Lotus Pond Midsummer 3-Light Getaway

This summer’s most fun family activity kicks off by Lotus Pond. Starting now, visitors can enjoy a row of food trucks, ride adorable mini trains, and take part in water activities every weekend by the pond, making a trip to Lotus Pond a refreshing experience of light vehicles, light meals, and light travel.

To match the summer family activity theme, food truck vendors have launched a “Spend 100 and Play” campaign. Visitors can play classic old-school games like marble shooting, ring toss, shuttlecock kicking, and ball grabbing with the vendors to win discounts on their purchases. Electric mini train operators are also offering a “Buy a child’s ticket, get an adult’s free” promotion, allowing parents to enjoy the cool breeze and relaxing boat rides with their kids.

 

Additionally, the scenic spots around the pond, connected by a convenient bicycle path, offer families a uniquely delightful experience. Visitors can bring their bikes and take the MRT to the World Games Main Stadium Station, then follow the smooth cycling paths to take in sights such as the World Games Stadium, Wuliting, Confucius Temple, North Pole Temple, City God Temple, and Dragon and Tiger Towers. After a short rest and light refreshments at the i Center near the Dragon and Tiger Towers, they can continue on to see Turtle Mountain, Veterans’ Village Culture Museum, and Kaohsiung Products Museum. In the evening, the beautiful illuminated crossings over Cuihua Road create a lovely urban sight — truly turning the area into a prime collective sightseeing destination.
