Light vehicle, light food, light travel — Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Midsummer 3-Light Tour

This summer’s most fun family-friendly activity kicks off by Lotus Pond. Starting now, on weekends, visitors to the pond can enjoy a lineup of food trucks, ride adorable mini trains, and take part in water activities, allowing those seeking relief from the heat at Lotus Pond to experience the 3-light travel concept: light vehicle, light food, and a light, relaxing trip.

To match the summer family activity theme, food truck vendors have launched “Spend 100 and Get Kid’s Play Fun” promotions. The public can play old-school games like marble shooting, ring toss, shuttlecock kicking, and ball grabbing with the food truck operators to win discounts on their purchases. Electric mini train operators are also offering a “Buy a Child Ticket, Get an Adult Free” deal, allowing parents and children to enjoy the cool breeze and a relaxing boat ride together.

 

In addition, the scenic spots around the pond, connected via convenient bike paths, offer a unique and touching experience for families. Visitors can bring their beloved bicycles, take the MRT to the World Games Main Stadium Station, and then follow the smooth cycling paths to take in sights such as the World Games Stadium, Wuliting, Confucius Temple, North Pole Temple, City God Temple, Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, and other historic city attractions. After a short rest and some light refreshments at the i Center near the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, they can continue on to see locations such as Turtle Mountain, Veterans’ Village Cultural Museum, and Kaohsiung Products Pavilion. In the evening or at night, they can even admire the beautiful lights spanning Cuihua Road, making it an excellent urban hub for group sightseeing.
