Tourist center gets a makeover to become Kaohsiung’s new highlight – Lotus Pond Visitor Service Center reopens after renovation

The Lotus Pond Visitor Service Center has undergone a major transformation and officially reopened to the public. Unlike traditional visitor centers that only offer travel information, this redesigned space focuses on local cultural creativity and integrates artistic, interactive, and souvenir elements. It’s not just an information hub — it’s now a service destination where visitors can create lasting memories of their trip.

Yeh Hsin-ya, Deputy Director of the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, said the bureau has been actively promoting the revitalization of public spaces. A recent example is the successful transformation of the long-dormant Qijin Rainbow Church into a popular wedding photo spot and public photography venue. In just a short time, it has become a new hot attraction in Kaohsiung with great results. Similarly, after being idle for some time, the bureau has also leveraged private resources and energy to establish the “Graceful Lotus Eats – Visitor Souvenir Service Center” at the Lotus Pond Visitor Center. This new facility offers a variety of travel services, aiming to leave both domestic and international visitors with wonderful memories of Kaohsiung.

In addition to providing travel information, the “Graceful Lotus Eats – Visitor Souvenir Service Center” sells locally themed souvenirs and gifts, as well as offering postcard mailing services. Outdoors, there is also a vibrant and cute food truck selling light meals and drinks, meeting the diverse needs of travelers. The operator adheres to the concept of “traveler’s memory” in serving guests, hoping to give visitors the most beautiful and unforgettable experiences at Lotus Pond.
