Baoding Military Academy Park

Baoding Military Academy Park is situated in the eastern part of Baoding city. It is named after being built on the site of the former Baoding Army Officers' School. The park spans approximately 21 hectares in total, with 15 hectares dedicated to greenery, extending over two kilometers from east to west, starting from Dongfeng East Road in the south to Wusi East Road in the north. The park was established on the original site of the Baoding Military Academy, which was formerly the Beiyang Short-Term Military Preparatory School and the Army Short-Term School of the Beiyang Army during the Qing Dynasty. After the establishment of the Republic of China, it was renamed the Army Officers' School. Concurrently with the Officers' School, the Beiyang Army United School was founded to the south of the Baoding Military Academy, later renamed the Army Short-Term School, and eventually repurposed as a military barracks. These two military schools are commonly referred to together as the "Baoding Military Academy."

The park consists of seven sections: the main entrance area, open-air music plaza, cultural leisure area, western scenic forest belt, Baoding Army Officers' School Memorial Hall, reviewing stand, and underground shopping mall. The park features two musical fountains, with the large fountain on the open-air music plaza equipped with a water-screen projection system. The ten cultural walls in the cultural leisure area showcase the rich historical and cultural heritage of Baoding. The design and construction of the park fully embody the concept of "people-oriented" planning, emphasizing the "integration of humans and nature." It is an elegant and beautifully landscaped urban park that blends historical culture with modern recreational facilities.

Construction of the park square began in April 2001 and was completed in September 2002. The towering, colorful Century Gate at the main entrance of the square resembles a rainbow soaring through the sky, symbolizing the dawn of the new century. The large relief screen located on the north side of the square is intricately carved with vivid depictions. Each marble relief showcases scenes of struggle from various historical periods of China, evoking awe for the extraordinary and remarkable years. The ancient city is a place of exceptional talent, and the Baoding Military Academy produced numerous influential heroes who shaped history and propelled it forward.
