Zhili Trial Court

The Zhili Trial Court is a nationally key cultural relics protection unit.

The nationally key cultural relics protection unit, the Zhili Trial Court, is located on the east side of West Court Street in the North District of Baoding City. Construction began in the 33rd year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1907) and it was put into use in the 2nd year of the Xuantong reign (1910). The court complex consists of two buildings: one is a two-story courtyard-style structure, including the south building, north building, and east and west wing buildings, featuring inner and outer corridors, with brick walls on the east, west, and north sides, all of which remain well-preserved to this day. The Zhili Trial Court marks an important milestone in China’s transition from a feudal judicial system to a modern one, and holds significant value in the history of Chinese legal development.

On October 20, 2008, the Zhili Trial Court was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units by the People's Government of Hebei Province.

In May 2013, the Zhili Trial Court was listed as part of the seventh batch of nationally key cultural relics protection units.
