Yiyuan Tangshan Buddhist Sculpture Cultural Park is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Tangshan scenic area is now a national AA-level tourist attraction. The site harmoniously blends natural resources with cultural and historical landscapes, combining mountains, temples, springs, rivers, and villages, as well as the unified cultural essence of Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. During the time of Jiang Ziya’s divine appointments, this place was known as Huangshan. Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yuan, built a royal temple here and renamed the mountain Tangshan. In the Yuan Dynasty, it became known as Tashan due to the presence of an 11-tiered twin pagoda, and later, during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was called Jiuding Lotus Mountain because of its nine peaks encircling the summit like stars surrounding the moon or a blooming lotus. ①The area is covered with lush pines and cypresses that block out the sun, creating a tranquil environment and forming the famous natural landscape “Layered Greenery of Tangshan.” The mountain is home to seventy-two springs, and its large expanse of “alpine wetlands” is a rare and unique geological phenomenon in northern China. At the foot of the mountain lies the Yihe River Scenic Park, which features vast waters and a seamless integration of landscape and water. ②The site contains numerous religious and cultural relics, including the Tangshan Temple, cliff carvings from the Tang Dynasty, the Jade Emperor Hall, the Zhizheng Ancient Stele, and the Dong’an Ancient City from the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Among them, the Tangshan Temple was a royal temple dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Its Guanyin Pavilion houses 22 crystal Guanyin statues, representing all the different images of Guanyin through various periods—it is the only crystal Guanyin series in China. The Tang Dynasty cliff carvings, situated on steep cliffs, consist of 503 statues, notable for their remarkable quantity and grand scale, which are rarely seen across the province. This area is also the historic site of real events such as the Ju-Lu Alliance and Li Kui fighting a tiger. ③The Dragon Culture Exhibition Park is the only cultural landscape in China that provides a comprehensive introduction to the historical evolution and heritage of dragon culture, displaying over 200 types of dragon totem patterns from five thousand years of Chinese history.
