Muxin · Shuangma Mountain Tourism Resort
Muxin · Shuangma Mountain Tourism Resort is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
Muxin · Shuangma Mountain Tourism Resort is located in Yanya Town, Yiyuan County, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It gets its name from the two horse-shaped peaks—Matou Cliff and Yinjia Cliff—among the 72 Yimeng Cliffs. With its rolling mountains, lush orchards, and fresh air, it is hailed as a “paradise for leisure and an ecological highland.” The resort boasts the highest-altitude reservoir in Shandong Province, served as a filming location for the documentary "China in the Countryside," and is a hidden paradise deep in the mountains.
The Shandong Muxin · Shuangma Mountain project was invested and constructed by Shandong Shuangma Mountain Modern Agricultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. It is situated on Dongshan by Hongqi Reservoir—the highest-altitude reservoir in Shandong Province—and is closely connected to the famous Matou Cliff and Yinjia Cliff among the 72 Yimeng Cliffs. The project is complemented by the landscape of Hongqi Lake, covering a planned area of over 20,000 mu, with investment also coming from the People’s Government of Yiyuan County.
The project is committed to building the Muxin · Shuangma Mountain brand. It aims to revitalize rural areas through cultural creativity, boost agriculture via tourism, and provide urban residents with a spiritual outlet. This initiative seeks a breakthrough in the integrated industry of “agriculture, tourism, and culture,” focusing on four major themes: “horse-themed experiences, seasonal rejuvenation, family travel, and rural cultural creativity.” It creates four distinct atmospheres: “Muxin · Mid-Mountain,” “Muxin · Waterside,” “Muxin · Cloudscape,” and “Muxin · Countryside.” The goal is to develop a rural tourism resort dedicated to leisure travel, vacationing, and learning. By shaping the “Muxin brand,” cultivating “Muxin culture,” and revitalizing “rural memories,” the project makes cultural life more accessible, traditions more modern, and the countryside more artistic.
The project actively explores a cross-sector integration model of “ecological agriculture + leisure tourism + cultural creativity.” Centered around the theme of “Muxin” and guided by the core concept of “turning to nature and experiencing authenticity,” it strives to “activate rural areas through cultural creativity, revitalize agriculture via tourism, and enhance travel experiences through wellness.” It seeks to provide urban dwellers with a spiritual outlet, targeting the family, health, and leisure vacation markets for mid-to-high-end urban audiences. The development focuses on creating “experiential, participatory, and creative” tourism projects that meet the needs of the core demographic. This aligns with the goals of the agricultural “new six industries,” making full use of existing ecological agricultural resources, scenic resources, rural cultural resources, and idle local labor. The design incorporates elements such as agricultural production, rural life, anime and fashion, along with traditional folklore. Through cultural creativity, it develops a comprehensive tourism model that combines rural experiences, eco-consumption, and sightseeing. This offers functions such as aesthetic enjoyment, stress relief, mental wellness, leisure experiences, and cultural heritage, thereby achieving a breakthrough in the “integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism” guided by creative and cultural tourism, with agriculture serving as the foundation. It serves as a model for the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, driving deeper collaboration between agriculture, tourism, education, culture, wellness and elderly care, as well as deep processing of agricultural products.
