Binzhou Diaowo Valley is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Diaowo Valley is located 5 li south of Xi’atuo Village, Qingyang Town, Zouping County, featuring a deep and wide valley that stretches for 3 li. Since 1993, Qingyang Town has comprehensively developed the former site of the Wang Bo Uprising within the valley, forming three major scenic areas: natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and temple culture.

Natural Landscape: Diaowo Valley was the site of the first peasant uprising in the late Sui Dynasty (611 AD). The valley is deep, steep, and rugged, with uniquely spectacular scenery. The valley is surrounded by high mountains on three sides, with only a 20-meter-wide valley entrance — the Shimen (Stone Gate) — to the northwest. Legend has it that the Stone Gate was built during the Wang Bo Uprising, making it a strategic stronghold where “one man could hold the pass against ten thousand.” To the east and west of the Stone Gate are the “Ancient Stone Walls” (also called Stone City Walls), which extend along the mountain ridges on both sides, standing about 2 zhang (approximately 6.6 meters) high and extending roughly 2 li in length each. Upon entering the Stone Gate, you can hear the sound of murmuring water but see no visible stream. To the southwest lies a mountain stream where rocks are scattered about, and water quietly flows beneath them, hence the name “Qianlong Valley” (Hidden Dragon Valley).
