In Shaojia Village, Matou Town, there are nearly 600 acres of round jujube plantations, with more than 6,000 jujube trees producing 500,000 pounds of jujubes annually. The highest-yielding tree can produce up to 320 pounds of fresh jujubes in a year. A complete industrial chain has been formed, including jujube blossom honey, fresh jujube picking, and the production of dried and dark jujubes. The wide planting area, long tree age, high yield, and superior quality of the round jujubes in this village rank among the best in the province. Around the Mid-Autumn Festival each year, the harvest of organic round jujubes attracts numerous merchants from other regions to visit and purchase.

Legend has it that Emperor Taizu of Song, Zhao Kuangyin, once drank water and rested by a well here, and tasted jujubes from a nearby tree. Later, after Zhao Kuangyin founded the Song Dynasty and became an emperor, the villagers, in memory of this historical event, named the well the "Imperial Well" and the jujube orchard the "Royal Jujube Garden."

As the saying goes, “Eat three jujubes a day, and you’ll stay young forever.” The round jujube, also known as purple bell, bell jujube, or round red, gets its name from its fruit’s resemblance to a round bell. Renowned far and wide, the round jujube is famous for its large size, small pit, thin skin, thick flesh, high sugar content, sweet taste, rich nutrition, crisp texture, delicious flavor, long growth period, ease of processing and storage, and diverse ways of consumption — making it truly the finest of all jujubes.
