Xibao Site

The Xibao Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zouping County.

The Xibao Site is located in Xibao Village, Changshan Town, covering an area of approximately 30,000 square meters. Artifacts unearthed at the site include sand-tempered red pottery, square-lipped folded-rim pottery li tripods, and gray pottery jars. The pottery jars, made of clayey gray pottery, feature triangular painted patterns below the shoulder and are typical cultural relics from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. In 1984, it was designated as part of the second batch of key cultural heritage protection units in Zouping County (Zouzheng Fa [1984] No. 10 document).

Changshan Town: Located in the eastern part of Zouping County, Changshan Town covers a total area of 106 square kilometers, comprising 10 administrative zones and 110 administrative villages, with a population of 73,000. It is the renowned hometown of Fan Zhongyan, a uniquely distinctive Chinese wind power city, and the internationally acclaimed Chinese yam capital. It is among the first group of central towns announced by the provincial government. The town has been successively awarded titles such as National Pilot Town for Small Town Construction, National Star Township for Well-Off Construction, and Advanced Village/Town in the National Campaign to Create Civilized Villages and Towns; it is also recognized as a Shandong Provincial Base for Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Industries, a Provincial Sanitary Town, a Provincial Civilized Town, one of Shandong Province’s Top Ten Towns for Developing a Low-Carbon Economy, and a leading town in the development of the private economy at both the provincial and municipal levels...
