Stele of Monk Zhigong at Lique Temple

The Stele of Monk Zhigong at Lique Temple is a cultural relic protected at the county level in Zouping County.

The Stele of Monk Zhigong at Lique Temple is located in Lique Village, Qingyang Town. It was erected in 715 AD (the third year of the Kaiyuan era of the Tang Dynasty). The stele stands 2.5 meters tall, is 1.1 meters wide, and 0.3 meters thick. The base of the stele is damaged, the top is broken, and the inscriptions on the front have become blurred and difficult to discern. However, the inscriptions on the top of the stele are still clear, reading "Stele of Monk Zhigong of Lique Temple on Changbai Mountain, Zhangqiu County, Qi Prefecture, Great Tang." On the back, there is an intaglio portrait of the Northern and Southern Dynasties eminent monk Zhigong. This stele is a precious cultural relic remaining from the ancient temple. It was designated as one of the first batch of key cultural relics under protection in Zouping County in 1980 (Document No. Zou Ge Fa [1980] 76).
