Hotel Terrace Site

The Hotel Terrace Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zouping County.

The Hotel Terrace Site is located about 3 kilometers southwest of Jiushan Village, Fengjia Town. The site is a raised terrace, higher than the surrounding flat land (reaching up to 2 meters at its highest point and generally about 1 meter higher), and has an irregular shape. The site is divided into a southern and a northern section: the southern section is approximately 80 meters east-west and 60 meters north-south, while the northern section is about 30 meters east-west and 30 meters north-south, with a total area of about 6,000 square meters. The site is covered with a large number of porcelain fragments. Collected samples include: white porcelain fragments, red porcelain fragments, a Song Dynasty “Chongning Zhongbao” copper coin, Longquan porcelain fragments, and Jun kiln porcelain fragments. Based on on-site investigation, the site is determined to be from the Song and Yuan dynasties. It is the only ancient site in the county that has not suffered large-scale artificial destruction and is relatively well preserved, possessing high research and conservation value.
