Liutai Site

The Liutai Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Liutai Site is located west of Liutai Village in Jiangji Township. From its discovery in 1957 to 1985, the state organized multiple excavations involving provincial, regional, and county-level archaeological and cultural heritage departments. Over 2,000 artifacts, including bronze ware, jade artifacts, pottery, porcelain, agate, woven items, and bone tools, were unearthed from five ancient tombs. Expert research and verification have confirmed that this is an early Western Zhou Dynasty noble tomb cluster. The tomb owners belonged to the family of “Pangong” (traditionally believed to be the cousin of King Wen of Zhou). The surname “Pang” originated from the surname “Jiang.” Today’s Jiangji Township evolved from the ancient “Pang” lineage of the Zhou Dynasty.

In 2019, the Liutai Site was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
